Novo Estagiário SPEA - Vitor Camacho

 Olá, o meu nome é Vítor Camacho e estudo na Universidade da Madeira no curso técnico superior superior profissional de Guias de Natureza. Este é o último passo para concluir este curso e sinto-me bastante empolgado para os próximos meses como estagiário e voluntário na SPEA.

Entrei neste curso no âmbito de no futuro exercer uma profissão que misture a animação turística com a observação de fauna e flora e conservação do meio ambiente, em destaque, na ilha da Madeira, para além de eu já ter tido formação na área da Biologia na licenciatura na Universidade da Madeira, onde fiz um intervalo académico, no qual pretendo regressar e concluir.

Estarei responsável por tarefas associadas à conservação, proteção, estudo e inventário de aves marinhas, na realização de inquéritos à população relacionados à poluição luminosa e à sua diminuição, ligados ao Projeto LIFE Natura@night, servindo igualmente de apoio nos trabalhos de campo.

Este estágio foi-me apresentado pela professora Cátia Gouveia em uma de suas aulas na temática das aves marinhas, seus habitats e conservação e entidades associadas, onde senti-me logo cativado a querer estagiar cá, porque também desde pequeno sempre mostrei grande interesse pela natureza e sua fauna e flora (e ainda mostro, sempre que faço algum percurso, não consigo parar de observar e registar os animais e plantas que me rodeiam, onde gosto bastante de tirar fotos e identificá-los), e acho que para mim é importante existir um estudo e conservação constantes do mundo natural.

Ao longo da minha vida, as experiências profissionais que tive relacionado com a vida selvagem e o seu estudo foram praticamente nulas, por isso acho que este estágio na SPEA é o início de um capítulo da minha vida numa área profissional que eu realmente gosto. Agradeço imenso pela oportunidade e darei o meu melhor e estarei sempre disposto a ultrapassar as minhas barreiras. Espero sair daqui mais enriquecido como pessoa e com experiências memoráveis para além de uma maior bagagem de conhecimento.

Hello, my name is Vítor Camacho and I study at the University of Madeira in the higher technical course of professional Nature Guides. This is the last step to complete this course and I feel very excited for the coming months as an intern and volunteer at SPEA.

I entered this course with the aim of exercising a profession in the future that mixes tourist entertainment with the observation of fauna and flora and conservation of the environment, in particular on the island of Madeira, in addition to having already had training in the area of ​​Biology at degree at the University of Madeira, where I took an academic break, which I intend to return and finish.

I will be responsible for tasks associated with the conservation, protection, study and inventory of seabirds, carrying out surveys of the population related to light pollution and its reduction, linked to the LIFE Natura@night Project, also serving as support in field work.

This internship was introduced to me by Professor Cátia Gouveia in one of her classes on the theme of seabirds, their habitats and conservation and associated entities, where I immediately felt captivated to want to do an internship here, because I have always shown a great interest in nature since I was a child. and its fauna and flora (and I still show, whenever I make a walk, I can't stop observing and recording the animals and plants that surround me, where I really like to take pictures and identify them), and I think that for me it is important that there is a constant study and conservation of the natural world.

Throughout my life, the professional experiences I had related to wildlife and its study were practically nil, so I think this internship at SPEA is the beginning of a chapter of my life in a professional area that I really enjoy. I really appreciate the opportunity and I will do my best and I will always be willing to overcome my barriers. I hope to leave here enriched as a person and with memorable experiences in addition to a greater knowledge base.
