One of the main actions carried out by SPEA in
the LIFE Fura-bardos project is the environmental education and spread
information about the activities that we carry out. For this purpose, we made
explanations in schools and in the street.
Therefore, last Friday, while Laura and Sonia
were in a school giving an explanation, Marta and me went to Curral das Freiras
with the collaboration of “Câmara Municipal de Câmara de Lobos” to show how important
is the work that SPEA Madeira carry out in order to preserve the environement.
Once there, we place the roll ups and a table
with informational pamphlets. Among the roll ups, we can highlight the Life
Furabardos project, which describes the species as well as laurisilva forest
and the actions carried out during the project, which were a great support in
our explanations.
During the day we talked with tourists from
all over the world, but it was also worth mentioning that we also had the
opportunity to speak with the people belonging to the day center of Corral das
Freiras and with various workers in the area, who showed a great interest in
the Activities that we are being carried out, demonstrating that this type of
activity is very necessary to raise awareness among tourists, as well as to
raise awareness of the inhabitants of the area, due to that they are the ones
who can most effectively help to conserve the habitat of the island.

Uma das principais ações realizadas por SPEA
Madeira dentro do projeto Life Fura-bardos, é a educação ambiental e
disseminação de informação das atividades que fazemos, para este fazemos
palestras em escolas e exposições na rua.
Portanto, na sexta-feira passada, Marta e eu
fomos ao Curral das Freiras em colaboração com a Câmara Municipal de Câmara de
Lobos para divulgar o importante trabalho de conservação feito por SPEA Madeira.
Uma vez lá, colocamos os roll ups e uma mesa
com folhetos informativos, os rolo ups do Projeto Life Furabardos descrevem de maneira
muito agradável ao fura-bardos, a Laurissilva e as ações realizadas durante o
projeto, que serviu como um grande apoio na divulgação da importância da
conservação ambiental.
Durante o dia nós conversamos com os turistas
de todo o mundo, e também tevimos a oportunidade de falar com as pessoas que
pertencem ao centro de dia do Curral das Freiras e vários trabalhadores na
área, que mostraram grande interesse em atividades que nos fizemos, sendo
demonstrado que essas atividades são muito necessárias para sensibilizar os
turistas, bem como para sensibilizar os moradores locais, porque eles realmente
são os que podem mais ajudar a conservação do habitat da ilha.
Antes de concluir o meu artigo, eu recomendo
fazer uma visita ao Curral das Freiras, já que tem um charme especial e umas vistas
espectaculares.
